The upcoming Sustainable Mountain Development Summit in third week of September 2025 will have elected representatives of the IHR, Key Policymakers and line agencies of the state governments, Academia, Civil Society Organizations and Community Based Organizations who will dialogue over critical issues of “Changing Agroecological landscape in Himalaya: resilience building and policy imperatives for Viksit Bharat’. The dialogue will deep dive and contextualise the agroecology issues of the IHR and delineate pathways to adaptation, resilience and Viksit Bharat. The SMDS is set within a larger goal of IMI to inform policymakers for a greater mountain sensitivity of policies on agroecology as well as allocation of appropriate knowledge and financial resources to mitigate the challenges that are impacting agroecology in the IHR including climate change.
